Women’s and Reproductive Rights: Protecting Health and Freedom
Let me be clear: abortion and IVF are essential health care and I will never dilute that truth for political convenience or partisan pressure.
I will oppose any federal restrictions on abortion, including term limits. Third-trimester abortions are rare, performed only under urgent medical circumstances. These decisions are about survival — yet politicians with no medical training want to criminalize doctors and punish patients. That’s not only offensive, it’s dangerous.
We’ve seen the devastating effects of abortion bans:
Patients with pregnancy complications denied care or forced to suffer.
Doctors criminalized for providing medically necessary care.
Women dying from treatable conditions because of politics interfering with medicine.
I will fight to:
Guarantee permanent federal protections for abortion access and birth control, including the morning-after pill.
Enact laws protecting abortion providers and patients nationwide, overriding harmful state bans.
Restore and expand maternal health grants gutted under previous administrations.
But reproductive justice is more than abortion rights.
The U.S. has the highest maternal mortality rate among developed nations -a crisis disproportionately impacting poor, rural, and Black and brown communities.
I will work to:
Dramatically increase federal funding for maternal health research.
Incentivize reopening and expansion of birthing centers in underserved areas.
Expand Medicaid postpartum coverage to at least 12 months after birth.
Support doulas, midwives, and culturally competent care through federal training and grants.
If you don’t have control over your own body, you don’t have freedom.
As your Congressman, I will ensure that no judge, politician, or billionaire ever takes that control away — not now, not ever.
