The Right to Unionize
No one who works full-time should struggle to survive. And yet across America, and right here in our district workers are being underpaid, overworked, and silenced.
Corporations are raking in billions while forcing employees to sign NDAs and “confidentiality” agreements just to keep them from talking about wages. That’s not transparency, that’s exploitation. And it’s time we call it what it is: union-busting.
I stand with workers. I stand with labor.
As your Congressman, I will fight to:
Protect and expand the right to unionize, without retaliation or coercion from employers.
Make it illegal to prohibit wage transparency — you should be able to talk about pay, period.
Support living wages and raise federal minimum standards to reflect local market conditions.
Ensure workers receive affordable, comprehensive healthcare, including vision and dental, without losing half their paycheck or coverage for their spouse and kids.
Crack down on union-busting tactics, including mandatory anti-union meetings, threats, and intimidation.
Invest in labor enforcement so workers aren’t forced to fight billion-dollar companies on their own.
When workers have a seat at the table, families thrive, communities rise, and our economy strengthens from the bottom up. Unions built the middle class and they’re going to save it too.
I know of local union presidents stealing funds and having personal bills paid by the workers who paid union dues.
I’ve dealt with poor, obsolete union reps who are simply unmotivated to take action for me and my coworkers.
I’ve lived paycheck to paycheck. I’ve seen what happens when companies exploit people just trying to care for their families. I won’t sit on the sidelines. I’ll have your back every single time.
