📚 Education: The Cornerstone of Empowerment

Education is the most powerful tool we have to break cycles of poverty, open opportunity, and fight injustice. That’s exactly why extremists are trying to control it —not to build minds, but to muzzle them.

From threats to dismantle the Department of Education to book bans, attacks on teachers, and efforts to defund public schools, this isn’t reform  – it’s sabotage.

As a disabled Latino, father, and homeschool parent, I know how broken the system is — especially for underserved communities, special needs students, and families trying to do more with less. In Congress, I’ll fight for a bold, inclusive education system that centers students, respects educators, and uplifts families — not corporations or culture wars.

🏫 My Federal Plan for Public Education That Works:

1. Fix Public Schools Before Funding Private Ones

No federal dollar should go to private or religious schools without equal accountability. I’ll work to ensure public schools are fully funded and modernized through Title I and IDEA before expanding voucher or charter programs.

2. Universal Pre-K for Every Family

I’ll support legislation to provide federally funded Pre-K and wraparound care, especially in rural and low-income areas, building on programs like Head Start to make early education truly universal.

3. Equity for Homeschool Families

Federal education dollars should include homeschoolers in access to:

• Public school sports, clubs, and extracurriculars

• District online platforms and curriculum tools

• Library and learning center resources

Homeschooling must be a supported and inclusive choice, especially for disabled parents and students with unique needs.

4. Dignity and Pay for Teachers

I support a federal minimum teacher salary of $60,000, full classroom funding, and grants for continuing education. Teachers deserve protection from harassment, not political scapegoating.

5. Free or Forgivable Higher Education

Let’s end the cycle of debt and broken dreams. I support:

• Full student loan cancellation

• Tuition-free public colleges and trade schools

• Expanded funding for apprenticeships and vocational training through programs like Perkins V and the National Apprenticeship Act

6. Defend Academic Freedom and Student Safety

I’ll fight back against censorship, political intimidation on campuses, and threats to students and educators. Education must remain a space for truth, inquiry, and diverse ideas – not fear and propaganda.

7. Support Families, Not Slogans

If we truly value families, then:

• Guarantee paid family leave and affordable childcare

• Fund school-based services for all children, including homeschooled students

• Expand Title X funding for family planning and maternal health
