Roman Valenciano is a proud son of Aurora, Illinois -born into a working-class family that relied on programs like WIC, Medicaid, and SNAP to get by. From growing up in neighborhoods across Kendall, DuPage, and LaSalle Counties to raising his own children in the same communities, Roman has lived the struggle and the promise of the American Dream.
A former HR recruiter and frontline worker, Roman knows what it’s like to advocate for employees -and to be punished for doing the right thing. Twice fired for whistleblowing, he turned hardship into action, standing up for workers’ rights, small businesses, and families pushed aside by corporate greed and political neglect.
Roman is running for Congress to bring Rights, Reform, and Results back to Illinois’ 14th District. With the heart of a fighter and the voice of the people, he’s here to challenge the status quo -not with TikTok trends, but with truth, transparency, and tireless advocacy.

Concern Issues
Top Issues that voters consider important
The ACA, Obamacare, Affordable Care Act - whatever you call it. It's in danger as Medicaid AND Medicare are being privatized NOW. They are supposed to offer the same coverage and services as Original Medicare and 'plain' Medicaid -they don't. No one is doing anything about it until now. Roman will work to expand healthcare and keep open our rural hospitals.
US Citizens are being targeted and deported due to appearing to be Latino. We must reform this broken immigration system, fund our borders, and finally grant citizenship to DACA recipients. Being Latino American, Roman understands how immigration could better be understood with dignity and compassion while delivering results.
Like all industries, law enforcement is severely understaffed and underfunded. How can they; get updated training, vet officers for hiring, serve the community quality service, investigate everything from child abuse to domestic violence in a timely fashion? Law enforcement is burnt out. It's your American right to a safe community.
How many presidents have said they would legalize the cannabis plant? Other states are only allowing hemp and not marijuana but can't tell the difference. We need to set a federal standard to assure the dispensaries have a say in what goes in their store, and update our pesticide research before legal users get poisoned. It can replace plastic, reducing our carbon footprint. Use it for fabric and clothing -reducing our reliance on big oil.
Already this administration has disassembled our Public Education system with no real replacement plan or funding. A lot of us graduated from Public School and have successful lives, but it could have not been without our amazing teachers. Our STEM and computer graphics programs that fuel our youth's logical thinking is at risk. How can one criticize our American kids for not meeting standards when there is no support to do it?
